THE LAST CHILD

THE LAST CHILD

By John Hart

I read Redemption Road earlier this year and was captured by John Hart‘s writing style. Descriptive enough that you can feel the emotions of the characters, and dark enough to keep me intrigued, I decided to read more of his novels. I started with The Last Child and I wasn’t disappointed. I was interested from the start in this story of a missing child, the affect on the family and particularly her twin brother, who dedicates his days and nights to finding his sister. The ending was twisty enough so that, even when I thought I had it figured out, some new elements appeared to throw me off. I like that! Few things bother me more than figuring out an ending because it’s too simple or because the author has tossed too many broad hints in my path. There is definitely an overtone of a “God” in John Hart’s books. I could do without that, but so far it hasn’t been a strong enough to turn this non-believer off. Very good book and looking forward to reading more from this author.
